Alice Philomena Harrington's Obituary

Alice Philomena Harrington (Meely), 86, of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ passed away on Wednesday, December 28, 2022. Born in Mt. Talbot, Roscommon, Ireland, she immigrated to England and then New York City in the early 1960's. She worked for many years as a Nanny and later as a Home Health Aide. She was a devout Catholic and parishioner of Corpus Christi RC Church, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Alice is survived by her devoted husband, Christy, children Christopher (Erin) Harrington of Glens Falls NY, Patrick Harrington of North Carolina and Catherine (Scott) Houba of Old Tappan, NJ. She has six grandchildren: Cailin, Aidan, Cara, Brodyn, Scotty and Brendan. Preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Catherine (Healy), brothers Willie, Bernard and Thomas, sisters Kathleen Clowe, Margaret (Peggy) Murphy and Teresa Fallon.

Her interests were listening to Irish music, attending an Irish Feis in the Catskills, sewing, knitting, gardening, cooking, and baking her delicious Irish Soda Bread, but her greatest love was to her husband and children.

We would like to provide our deepest gratitude to her husband Christy, who cared for her in her final years.

The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 7pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2023, Costa Memorial Home 170 Central Ave, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11am on Thursday January 5, 2023, at Corpus Christi RC Church, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Interment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park 234 Paramus Rd, Paramus, NJ
