It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ann Clause, of River Vale and formerly of Hasbrouck Heights, at 96 years young.

Ann was born in 1927 to Dominick and Concetta Petracca.  Ann was preceded in death by her husband, John Clause.  The two met at a Passaic Armory dance when Ann was 18 years old and were together for over 50 years until his passing in 1997.

She is survived by her three daughters, Donna Rizzo; Debra DeVoe and her husband, Joseph; and Jonni Clause; as well as by her five grandchildren, Jennifer Rizzo; Michael Rizzo; John DeVoe; David DeVoe and wife Sydney; and JeanMarie Hall and husband, Sean.  She was adored by her five great grandchildren, Everett and Emerson DeVoe; and Andrew, Melody, and Josephine Hall.

Affectionately known as "Ooma" to her loved ones, Ann was an exceptionally kind, intelligent, and strong woman.  She was an avid reader and music enthusiast who spent summers with her family in Ortley Beach playing cards, and winters in Florida playing golf.  Though outwardly quiet and unassuming, Ann enjoyed a good prank and was known for her sense of humor.  Mostly, Ann cherished time with her family.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, May 25th at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy from St. Joseph's R.C. Church, Lodi at 10 AM. Private cremation will follow. Visitation Friday, May 24th from 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home.

Ann will always be remembered for her gentle and caring nature and will be dearly missed.  In lieu of flowers, be kind to one another.
