Anthony John Yapaola, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on July 29, 2023. Born on June 6, 1933, in Jersey City, NJ, Anthony was the youngest child of Maria Josephine (Fraraccio) and Tobio Yapaola.
He was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady and a member of St. Anthony's Knights of Columbus both in Wood-Ridge.
Anthony was married to his cherished wife, Margaret (Peggy) Byrne, for 65 wonderful years. Their beautiful union, which began at St. Michael's in Jersey City, blessed them with three devoted sons, John, Gerard, and Danny.
Anthony leaves behind a rich legacy through his children. John, whose wife Amy is sadly deceased; Gerard; and Danny and his wife, Kipp. He was the proud grandfather to Joseph, Anthony, Kevin, Jacqueline, and Victoria. Joseph's wife, Annie, and Anthony's fiancé, Jenny, along with Kevin's fiancé, Anastassia, also hold treasured memories of Anthony.
His legacy extends to three great-grandchildren, John, Olivia, and Sydney, who brought him immense joy in his later years. Anthony's family also includes his loving sister, Sr. Rose Iapaola MPF, sisters-in-law Mary Walsh and Mary Byrne, and a large, affectionate group of 27 nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents and siblings, John, Patrick, Victoria, Danny, Antoinette, and Gabriel.
In his professional life, Anthony was a dedicated employee at Feltz Printing in Jersey City. He was known for his commitment, hard work, and the genuine connections he built with his colleagues.
Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge on Wednesday, August 2nd at 11 AM. (All to meet at church). Private cremation will follow.
