Arthur Fekete 71, of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025. Born in Jersey City to the late Violanda and Francis Fekete. Before retiring in 2007, Arthur was a toll collector for the New Jersey Turnpike Authority for 25 years. He was the beloved husband of the late Marilyn (nee Kujava) Fekete. Devoted father of Melissa Schanne and her husband Chris and Jennifer Foley and her husband Brian. Dear brother of Frank Fekete and his wife Addie, Robert Fekete and his wife Alba and Kenneth Fekete and his wife Ginny. Dear brother in law of Andrew Kujava and his late wife Carmen and Patricia Gallagher. Loving grandfather of Amanda, Reese and Addison. Beloved uncle of Maria Brugg, Frank Fekete, Lauren Fekete, Mary Suter & Emily Heine.
Arthur enjoyed playing the drums, eating Italian food, Dunkin' Donuts coffee, mowing the lawn, walking around Home Depot and Lowe's, watching NY Rangers hockey, listening to Grand Funk Railroad, The Doobie Brothers and Chicago, watching Blue Bloods, hanging out with the Oldfield Ave guys shooting the breeze, bickering with his friend, George and spending time with his family and the lights of his life, his granddaughters. Arthur had a great big love for the dogs in his life, Rocky, Mollie, Rosie and Napa. He enjoyed waiting by his front door for all of the neighborhood dogs to pass by and hand out treats.
Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Friday, May 16th at 8:30 AM. Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge at 9:30 AM. Entombment following at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visitation Thursday, May 15th from 4 - 8 PM at the funeral home.
