Bernice A. Baker (nee O'Brien) 88, of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023. Born in Teaneck to the late Louise and Francis O'Brien. Before retiring, Bernice was the Assistant Borough Clerk in Hasbrouck Heights. She was a member of The First Reformed Church in Hasbrouck Heights where she served as an Elder, a member of the choir and the Woman's Guild. She was a former Girl Scout Leader, a former member of the Junior Woman's Club and the Band Parents Association all in Hasbrouck Heights. Beloved wife of the late Hasbrouck Heights Police Chief Howard "Buddy" Baker, Jr. Devoted mother of Beverly Berardinelli and her husband Tom, Linda Condal and her husband Greg, Sharon Baker-Witzel, Nancy McCrystall and her husband Pete, Carolyn Dieter, Howard Baker, III, Alan Baker and his wife Laura, and Diane Lohrmann and her husband John. Loving grandmother of David (Lynsey), Steven, Kimberly (Allan), Amanda (Jack), Taryn, Taylor (Jarett), Ryan, Kevin (Brittany), Lucy (Josh), Donna, Emily, Landry, Sara (Cameron), Jillian (Dan), Molly, Schafer, Kelsey, Matthew, Jack, Grace and the late Joshua and Shane. Cherished great grandmother of Logan, Oliver, Dakota, Mackenzie, Wyatt, Jack, Bria, Haley, Charlotte and Marigold.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, September 2nd at 10 AM. Funeral Service at The First Reformed Church in Hasbrouck Heights at 11 AM. Reverend Debbie Rundecker officiating. Interment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Friday, September 1st from 2 – 4  &  7 – 9 PM at the funeral home.
