Beth Cafferty

Beth Cafferty (née Churchill), 61, of Hasbrouck Heights, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. She is survived by her devoted husband, George Cafferty; her beloved children, Conor Cafferty and his wife Samantha, and Caitlin Cafferty and her fiancé Joseph Hickey; her loving parents, Joan and Glenn Churchill; and her cherished grandchildren, Jett and Case.

Beth was born in Hudson Falls, NY and earned a bachelor's degree in economics with a minor in Spanish from Union College. She began her career at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York and would go on to dedicate 25 years to teaching Spanish in the Hasbrouck Heights School District. Through a quarter century in the classroom, she inspired generations of students with her passion for language and learning. Her impact extended far beyond the school's walls as a beloved member of the broader Hasbrouck Heights community. Outside the classroom, Beth shared her love of horses by teaching horseback riding at the Bergen Equestrian Center in Leonia — a reflection of the warmth and generosity she brought to everything she did.

Memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19th at Costa Memorial Home located at 170 Central Avenue (cor. of Blvd.) in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM, with an opportunity to share memories and stories at 4:00 PM.
