Carmela "Millie" Weisbecker (nee Saggio) 92, of Wood-Ridge passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2021. She was born on June 21, 1929 in Carlstadt. Carmela met her husband Francis "Frank" while at Rutgers University where she received a BS Degree in Education. She graduated in 1951. She and Frank married in 1952 and settled in Wood-Ridge. They renewed their wedding vows on their 50th wedding anniversary and celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary just a few years ago. Carmela worked in the Bergenfield school system from 1970 until 1995 where she taught Home Economics. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Carmela was a Girl Scout leader, a former member of the Democratic Club, a current member of the Rosary Society, but most of all took great joy in being surrounded by family which meant the world to her. Her front door was always open for visitors and she loved to cook and entertain family and friends. Beloved wife of the late Frank Weisbecker, devoted mother of Joanne, Philip and his late wife Maria, Gary and his wife Cynthia, and Scott and his wife Rose. Loving grandmother of Bernadette and her husband Jeff, Beatriz and her husband Tom, Jennifer and her husband John, Jacqueline and her husband Blair, Gregory and his wife Danielle, Tiffany and her husband Matt and Matthew. Cherished great grandmother of James, Julia, Jenna, Zachary, Tyler, Isabella, Johnny, Josiah and Colton. Carmela was predeceased by her parents Cono and Giovanna. She is survived by her sister Tina Mongulla and her husband Jack and the late Joseph Saggio and his surviving spouse Rosalie Saggio, aka "The Aunts". Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Tuesday, September 7th at 9:15 AM. Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge at 10:30 AM. Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation Monday, September 6th from 2-5 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN. 38105 would be appreciated.
