Chris P. Semenecz 70, of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Friday, July 15, 2022. Born in Hackensack to the late Elizabeth and Joseph Semenecz. Chris was the owner of Mid-Air Car Service in Hasbrouck Heights for 35 years.

Beloved husband of Jayne (nee Becker) Semenecz. Dear brother of Kathleen Townsend and her late husband James, Judith Ann Spannagel and her late husband Martin, James Semenecz and his wife Sheila, Shawn Moech and her husband Snapper and Colleen Semenecz. Brother-in-law of Madeline Fischer and her late husband John and Eileen Herberger and her husband George. Cherished uncle of numerous nieces and nephews. Also survived by his puppy, Paladin.

Chris served as a Councilman in Hasbrouck Heights from January of 1979 to December of 1981 and a second term from January of 2013 to December of 2015. He ran for Mayor in November of 2015. He was an active member of the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department retiring in October of 2021 after serving 37 years on the department. He held the positions of Lieutenant and Captain of Engine Co. One as well as the treasurer and mechanic of the Engine until the department merger in 2019. He also served as Second Assistant Chief from 1990-1991, First Assistant Chief from 1991-1992 and served as Chief of the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department from 1992-1993. He also served as the president of the Exempt Association from 1999-2000 and has served as treasurer of the Relief Association from 1994 until the present and served as an EMT in Hasbrouck Heights. He served in various County positions over the years. Chris volunteered as Santa around the town, at the Library and for the Fire Department Kid's Party. Chris was a volunteer for the Special Olympics from 1978-1986.

A Memorial Mass will be offered at Corpus Christi R.C. Church in Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, July 30th at 12 Noon. Memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN. 38105 or to the Hasbrouck Heights Fire Department 248 Hamilton Ave. Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604 would be appreciated. Arrangements are by Costa Memorial Home in Hasbrouck Heights.
