David Karl
Koch
September 24, 1961 — October 29, 2023
David Karl Koch, 62, of Ramsey, NJ, peacefully passed away on October 29, 2023. David was born at South Shore Hospital in Bayshore, Long Island, NY, the youngest of three children of Richard and Diane Koch and grew up in Bohemia, NY. He lost his mother at age 7 and was subsequently raised by his father, Richard and stepmother, Mary.
David attended Connetquot High School and later graduated from SUNY at Old Westbury with a BS in Computer Science.
He met his wife and love of his life, Patricia Cook, through their mutual friends and they were married on July 3rd, 1992. They went on to have one son, Connor. Patty, sadly, predeceased David six months ago after a bout with cancer.
David worked for various companies through his adult life including Grumman, UBS, KPMG and most recently, the New York Power Authority as a Data Governance Manager.
His favorite occupation though was a father to Connor and husband to Patty. He especially loved the many outings they all took to various baseball stadiums throughout the country. Christmas Eve was special to David and every year they hosted a party for his extended family. He had a giving soul often inviting colleagues from work to the party if they had no one to share the holiday with. Although he admittedly did not know much about the sports he coached, David also loved to coach all of Connor's teams to spend quality time with his beloved son.
David loved life, family and friends and always said that when he passed, he wanted people to remember him with joy and celebration rather than sadness. He touched many people in his life with his giving and caring actions.
He is survived by his parents, Richard and Mary Koch, his son Connor his brothers, Ken, Rich (Debra) and Stephen (Leslie) and his in-laws; Nancy (Joe), Ellen, Joe (Denise), and Mark (Cathy).
