Dennis Calacione, 75, of New Milford, passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2026.
Dennis was born and raised in Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, where he met his wife, Vicki Nelson, as a teenager in high school. What started as young love turned into a lifetime together.
Dennis dedicated his entire career to PSE&G, where he worked as a Senior Administrative Assistant and was known for his dedication and strong work ethic throughout his career.
Dennis was a devoted husband, a loving father, and a proud grandfather, known affectionately as "Grandpa" and "Papi." He is survived by his beloved wife, Vicki Calacione; his daughter, Julie Wernock, and her husband, Jeffrey; his son, Dennis Calacione, and his wife, Jessica; and his cherished grandchildren, Cecily, Jocelyn, Domenica, and Jacob.
He is also survived by his brother, Joseph Calacione. He was the beloved brother-in-law of Pamela Bencivengo and her husband, Frank, and a cherished uncle to many nieces and nephews.
To know Dennis was to love him. Deeply rooted in his community, he was a great friend and neighbor. Loved by everyone whose path he crossed, he was someone you could always count on without hesitation. He was truly the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back without a second thought, and with a smile. He found his happiness in the simple things: time with family, grilling, days on the golf course with his buddies, fishing, and taking rides in his '67 Chevelle on a warm summer day, followed by enjoying a cold beer.
Above all else, Dennis loved his family wholeheartedly. He never missed a moment, always showing up with pride, support, and unconditional love. From cheering on his children at every game and event to sitting front row at his grandchildren's dance recitals and school concerts, he was always there. His greatest joy in life was his grandchildren.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held at Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 260 Boulevard, Hasbrouck Heights, on Monday, March 23rd at 11 AM. All are asked to meet at the church. Entombment will follow at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 22nd from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights.
In lieu of flowers, please raise a cold Budweiser and enjoy a cigar in his memory.
