Dominick "Sonny" F. Amato, Sr. 91, of Hasbrouck Heights formerly of Hoboken passed away peacefully at his home on December 13, 2022. Loving son of the late Dominick and Concetta Amato.

He is predeceased by his wife Patricia in 2016 and two brothers Charles and Victor Amato. Dominick is survived by his three children, Dominick Jr., Dana and Diane as well as his daughter-in-law Melissa and son-in-law Rick. He was the beloved grandfather to Jessica, Drew, Samantha, Christian, Jason and Julianna.

Sonny grew up in Hoboken and moved to Hasbrouck Heights in 1963 with his wife Patricia. He was a Navy veteran during the Korean War. Sonny worked for Maxwell House Coffee in Hoboken for 31 years and got his BS Degree in Marketing at night while attending St. Peter's University in Jersey City. He later purchased a small business in South Hackensack in 1986 called Concorde Electronics where he worked with his children until 2019. He loved football and hockey and was an avid Giants and Rangers fan. He deeply enjoyed watching his grandchildren play hockey and would attend as many games as possible. His other love was his home on the Jersey Shore, where he would spend summers entertaining friends and family, making sure no matter how many people showed up, they all left with full hearts and fuller stomachs. He retired to his home in Hasbrouck Heights until his passing this week.

Interment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Friday, December 16th from 3-7 PM at the funeral home.
