Donald L. Overbey 83, of Bogota passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, August 31, 2024 with his beloved wife Sheryl (nee Dwyer) Overbey at his side. Born in Knoxville, TN to the late Imogene and Louis Overbey. Donald served in the U.S. Navy for 13 years, traveling the world, before relocating back to New Jersey to be near family. He joined the Sheet Metal Workers Union Local 28 in New York City where he worked for several decades. Donald retired in 2002 to pursue two loves, golfing and family.

Dedicated father of Steven Overbey and his wife Sandra. Devoted grandfather of Abigail Overbey, Donald Overbey and his wife Rylie, Mathew Venneman and his wife Steffani, Thomas (TJ) Venneman and his wife Samantha, and Stephen Venneman and his life partner Shaquille Mortley. Cherished great grandfather of Dally Overbey (Donald and Rylie), Theo and Ari Venneman (Mathew and Steffani), and Elliana and August (TJ and Samantha). Dear brother-in-law and life friend of Kathy Smith, Sandy Dwyer and Scott Dwyer. Dear uncle of numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and great nephews. Donald is predeceased by brothers Jerry Overbey, Gary Overbey, Neal Overbey, Dale Overbey, and Stacy Overbey, and is survived by brother Arthur Overbey.

Donald was a good neighbor and friend to many who always enjoyed his easy smile and life stories.

Private Service and cremation was arranged by Costa Memorial Home in Hasbrouck Heights overseeing Donald's care.
