Edward J. Sullivan 95, of Wood-Ridge passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Born in Jersey City to the late Helen and John Sullivan. Ed received his Masters Degree in Public Administration from Fairleigh Dickinson University. He was a Merchant Marine from 1944-1945 and then enlisted in the Army from 1945-1946. Before retiring, Ed was a Federal Officer for Immigration Services for the U.S. Government in Newark and previously, he was a police officer for the NY. NJ. Port Authority Police Department. Ed was a member of the Wood-Ridge Fire Department and served as Captain for the Emergency Squad. He was a charter member, a past Grand Knight and a former trustee for St. Anthony's Knights of Columbus Council in Wood-Ridge and a life member, a past Faithful Navigator, a former Purser and a former trustee for the Bishop O'Connor Fourth Degree Assembly in Hackensack where he was a member of the Color Corps.

Beloved husband of the late Joan (Giovanna) (nee Bruno) Sullivan. Devoted father of William Sullivan and his wife Susan, Dr. Michael Sullivan and his wife Lauren, Maria Baldino and her husband Robert, Sean Sullivan and the late Edward Sullivan. Dear brother of the late William, Robert, Dennis, Gladys, Hazel and Raymond. Loving grandfather of fourteen grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Monday, August 21st at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge at 10 AM. Entombment following at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visitation Sunday, August 20th from 2 - 6 PM at the funeral home.
