Elda M. Coccia (nee Soriano) 89, of Saddle Brook passed away on Wednesday, March 29, 2023 surrounded by family. Born in Lioni, Avellino Italy to the late Anna and Angelo Soriano and came to the United States in 1947. Elda was co-founder of Coccia Foundation and their academic arm, the Joseph and Elda Coccia Institute at Montclair State University. She was a parishioner of St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Saddle Brook. Elda was a volunteer at Hackensack University Medical Center knitting over 1,000 blankets for infants with cancer and was a former member of the Ladies Auxiliary of UNICO in Kearny.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph Coccia, Jr. Devoted mother of Genevieve Nicastro, Elisa Coccia, Marisa Kettelhut, Joseph Coccia, III and Christopher Coccia. Dear sister of the late Nicholas Soriano, Concetta DiSalvo and Mafalda Pellegrino. Loving grandmother of ten grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Monday, April 3rd at 8:45 AM. Funeral Liturgy from St. Philip the Apostle R.C. Church in Saddle Brook at 10 AM. Entombment following at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visitation Sunday, April 2nd from 1-5 PM at the funeral home.
