Eleanor E.
Cole
October 24, 1934 — November 25, 2023
Eleanor E. Cole (nee Klenk) passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 25, 2023 at the age of 89. She is survived by her son, Brian and wife, Gail and grandsons Connor and Colin Cole. She is predeceased by her husband, Lewis, better known as Chick, her parents Anna and Gottleib Klenk, sister Hilda Milner and grandson, Brendan Charles Cole.
Eleanor was born in Hoboken, moving to Hasbrouck Heights in 1940 where she lived until 2016. She spent many happy years at Cedar Crest in Pompton Plains, NJ, where she was well known for her fashion style. Upon graduation from Hasbrouck Heights High School, she was a secretary at Bendix Corporation until the birth of her only child, Brian in 1961.
In later years, she was a lunch aide in Hasbrouck Heights. Her true joy was her three grandsons. She loved doting on them, babysitting whenever possible and always buying them nice clothes.
Eleanor struggled with many health issues over the years, but never complained and humbly stated that there is someone else who is worse off than she was and counted her blessings. She will be greatly missed.
