Eugene "Gene" Patunas 81, of Moonachie formerly of Jersey City passed away on Saturday June 26, 2021. Born in New York City to the late Eugene and Evangeline Patunas. Before retiring, he was co-owner of Flagship Construction Company in Hackensack and was a proud member of the Ironworkers Union Local 11 in Bloomfield. Gene was a former member of the Bakers Union in Hoboken. Beloved husband of the late Ann C. "Cookie" (nee Cirit) Patunas. Devoted father of Marie Elena Patunas-Rubin and her husband Richard, Melissa Matos and her husband Joe, Matthew Patunas and his wife Christina and the late Michael Patunas and his surviving spouse Jill. Dear brother of Chris Patunas and his wife Suzanne, Kay Eakin and her husband Robert and the late George Patunas. Loving grandfather of eleven grandchildren. Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Wednesday, June 30th at 8:45 AM. Funeral Liturgy from St. Margaret of Cortona R.C. Church Little Ferry at 10 AM. Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation Tuesday, June 29th from 2-6 PM at the funeral home.
