Obituary

FRANK J. DRZEWIECKI, age 92, of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, passed on to eternal life on the Sunday morning of October 24th, 2021.

Born on September 19, 1929, in Jersey City, NJ, Frank was the son of Frank and Sophie (née Kantorski) Drzewiecki; the brother of Edward and Magdalene; and a graduate of St Bridget's Grammar School and Ferris High School of Jersey City.

Marrying the love of his life, Irene (née Breheny), on Christmas eve of 1950, he spent the next 69+ years with her, raising their three daughters in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ.

Frank served his country honorably during the time of the Korean War as Staff Sergeant and Ground Radar Instructor in the US Air Force (1950-1954).

He excelled in academics with a Bachelors of Science in Engineering from Newark College of Engineering, furthering his education with a Masters of Science degree in Computer Science.

His many accomplishments include: Retired Engineer from the US Army Armament, secret clearance Research, Development and Engineering Center at Picatinny Arsenal; Member of technical staff at AT&T Bell Laboratories with top secret clearance; Senior Engineer at Singer Kearfott Aviation Division, secret clearance; dedicated to his profession until his retirement from the Arsenal at 80 years of age.

Furthermore, Frank taught at Stevens Institute of Technology as an Adjunct Assistant Professor, graduate division, EE/CS, and at Fairleigh Dickinson University, Adjunct Assistant Professor, EE/CS.

Along with his wife, Irene, he was a devout parishioner of Corpus Christi for nearly 60 years.

Favorite hobbies in his younger days would have included reading and jogging, running in three marathon events including the first New York City Road Runners Marathon. Frank also once served as president for the HH Swim Club.

As a beloved husband of nearly 70 years, Frank was just widowed last year in 2020.

As a dear father to Mary and her husband George Planthaber, Karen and her husband Tommie Mims, Eileen and her husband Brian Chroback; a wonderful grandfather to Kelly and her husband Dominic Imperiale, Elizabeth and her husband Alex Sadej, Tommie Mims, Charlie Mims, Colleen and her husband Julian Montilla, and Kevin Chroback; plus a loving pop pop to four great grandchildren, Camryn, Sienna & Cristian, and Charlie; Frank will be very missed by all!

The family will welcome relatives and friends at Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Avenue, Hasbrouck Heights from 3 to 6 pm on Friday, October 29th. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, October 30th at Corpus Christi RC Church, 260 Boulevard, Hasbrouck Heights at 9:30 am. Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, 340 Ridge Road, North Arlington, NJ 07031.
