Frank V.
Proscia
February 20, 1936 — September 5, 2025
Frank Vincent Proscia, 89, of Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, died Friday, September 5, surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Frank was born in New York City to Italian immigrant parents. The youngest of three sons, he spent most of his early life in the Coney Island section of Brooklyn, and his family's candy store on the corner of Coney Island Avenue and Avenue Y.
The first member of his family to attend college, Frank graduated from St. John's University in Queens, NY. He then became a Certified Public Accountant, eventually building his own successful accounting practice.
Frank touched countless lives through his kindness, generosity, and love of life. He loved history, travel, fine cuisine, Scotch Whiskey and celebrating Christmas with huge trees and parties. But most of all, he loved playing with his children and grandchildren and often took them to Disney World. When he was there, they all felt it was truly the happiest place on earth.
Frank is survived by his wife of 54 years, Maria Bellavia Proscia, three children: Peter Proscia (Jennifer), Millneck, NY; Frank Paul Proscia (Amanda), Ocean, NJ; Elena Goehrig (John), Ramsey, NJ; seven grandchildren: Amanda Capriglione (Donald); Jonathan Proscia (Jackie); Dominic Proscia; Nicolas Proscia; Harrison Goehrig; Andrew Goehrig and Grant Goehrig; and four great-grandchildren: Leia, Donald Jr., Ariella, and Lennon.
He was predeceased by his parents, Frances and Pietro Proscia, his brothers John and Vito Proscia, his sisters Margaret Ingrassia and Marie Janetti, and his son, Vincent Proscia.
