Helen
Frank
January 22, 1933 — February 9, 2026
Helen Frank of Hasbrouck Heights, New Jersey, passed away on Monday, February 9, at the age of 93.
Born to Theresa and Stephen Jacobic of Jersey City, she was the youngest of siblings—Jack, Mae, and Stephen. As a first-generation American, Helen's first language was Slavic; however, she quickly learned English with pride and graduated from Lincoln High School class of 1951.
Helen's early years were spent as an administrative assistant until she became a lifelong devoted mother who stopped at nothing for the betterment of her family. She was deeply rooted in her faith and remained a lifelong parishioner of St. Mary Byzantine Catholic Church in Jersey City. St. Mary's Choir was truly her extended family. Helen was a soprano in the highly accomplished choir that performed on the east coast within the Byzantine Catholic community from Washington DC to Boston. Their performances were so admired that recordings of the Liturgies and Christmas services were produced.
Helen will be fondly remembered for her enthusiastic zest for life, charming wit and quirks, including her playful mispronunciation of names, her cheerful greeting whenever she answered the telephone, and her enthusiastic devotion to Giants football, and her fond references to the Kansas City "Chickens." One could often hear her reacting passionately to a great play or a questionable call.
For many years, Helen worked in the Hasbrouck Heights school system as an administrative assistant, where she was well loved by students and colleagues alike and is fondly remembered.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Edward Frank and will be deeply missed by her devoted family, who were by her side during her final hours: her children Edward and his wife Jane, John and his wife Carol, Alan and his wife Debra, and Caroline and her husband Keith. She is also lovingly remembered by her 9 grandchildren—Jacqueline and her husband Giancarlo, Edward (Ward), Brian, Adam, Erica, Micayla, Alan (Ace), Arden, and Kallin (Bitsy)—as well as her treasured great-grandson, Gianni, who was the light of her eyes.
She was humbly intelligent and wise until her last breath.
