Herbert G. Burniston 94, of Wood-Ridge formerly of Jersey City passed away on Friday, June 20, 2025. Born in Jersey City to the late Florence and Herbert Burniston. Herbert was a Navy veteran of the Korean War serving from 1951-1955. Before retiring, he was a Supervisor for Verizon in Teaneck. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hasbrouck Heights and a former coach for the Wood-Ridge Little League. Beloved husband of the late Christina E. (nee Miller) Burniston. Devoted father of Deborah Margiotta and her husband Paul, Thomas Burniston and his wife Debra and William Burniston and his wife Denise. Dear brother of the late Richard Burniston. Loving grandfather of Stacy Margiotta, Daniel Burniston, Brianna Burniston, Joseph Burniston, Kimberly Burniston, Thomas Burniston and the late Matthew Margiotta. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews. Herbert is also survived by his caregiver Ellen Dabamkah.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Thursday, June 26th at 9:30 AM. Funeral Service at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Hasbrouck Heights at 10:30 AM. Reverend Susan Nelson-Colaneri officiating. Interment following at Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. Visitation Wednesday, June 25th from 4 - 8 PM at the funeral home.
