Obituary

James P. Moran 90, of Maywood passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024. Born in Jersey City to the late Marie and Bernard Moran. James graduated from St. Peter's College and received his  Masters Degree from Seton Hall University. He was an Army veteran serving in Germany during the Korean War. Before retiring, he held a variety of Managerial Industrial Engineering positions at ITT Avionics Division and at Webcraft Technologies. James was a faithful parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church in Maywood where he functioned in the Funeral Support, Eucharistic Minister and Lector Ministries. He also had served on the Parish Council, in the Renew and Stewardship Programs and had been assigned as the Parish Ecumenical Representative. James was a 55 year member of the Maywood Fire Department serving in Undine Hose Company. He held Company Officer positions and moved through the Chief Officer ranks rising to Chief of Department. He also was a member of the New Jersey Exempt Firemen Association. Beloved husband of the late Barbara Moran. Devoted father of Kathleen Lisi-Neumann and her husband Gary, Kevin Moran and his wife Lisa, Terrence Moran and his wife Lucia and Timothy Moran and his wife Jeanne. Dear brother of the late Robert Moran. Loving grandfather of Anthony, Christopher, Mary Kathleen, Kerri Elizabeth, Timothy, Matthew, Jake, Joseph, Nicholas, Andrew, Michael, Olivia, Liam and Reese. Cherished uncle of many nieces and nephews.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Thursday, October 10th at 8:15 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Our Lady Queen of Peace R.C. Church 400 Maywood Avenue in Maywood at 9:30 AM. Interment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Wednesday, October 9th from 4 – 8 PM at the funeral home.
