Our beloved mother Joan Mion joined her husband Silvano on Mother's Day, May 9, 2021. She was the first born child of William Mawhinney and Margaret Morton Mawhinney. She grew up in New York City with her four sisters , married the love of her life and moved to Hasbrouck Heights in 1957. Before retiring, Joan was an executive assistant at Bendix Corp. in Teterboro. Joan loved her home, gardening, sewing, baking, decorating, traveling and most importantly raising four children with her husband by her side. She leaves behind her three daughters, Barbara Sproviero and her husband Dave, Karen Russ and her husband Jay, Lynne Belous and her husband Gregg and her son Robert Mion along with three grandchildren, Ryan and Taryn Sproviero and Jenna Belous and her fiancé James Ingemi . She also had the love, comfort and support of three special caregivers, Carmela, Lisa and Krystina who stayed by her side. A Memorial Mass will be offered at Corpus Christi R.C. Church in Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, May 22nd at 11:30 AM with a Repast to follow. Donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN. 38105 in Joan's memory would be appreciated. Joan will be missed but remembered everyday in the hearts of her loving family. Arrangements are by Costa Memorial Home in Hasbrouck Heights.
