Joan H. Skeens passed away peacefully on October 9, 2025. She was born in Jersey City on December 3, 1935 the daughter of the late Jennie (Manno) and Peter Lynch and remained a New Jersey resident throughout her life.
Joan spent most of her life in Little Ferry. She was a devoted wife and mother, after her children were grown Joan became a pharmacy technician and spent many years working in the pharmacy department at Shoprite of Hackensack.
Joan was an avid reader and huge New Jersey Devils fan. Joan adopted her dog Milo who for over a decade has been her best friend.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Krueger; her son, James J. Skeens, Jr. along with his wife Doreen their daughters Jillyan and Krystine; their grandchildren Kayson, Alyssa, Anthony, Gianna and Ava; great-grandchildren Catalina and Jaxson; her son Donald Skeens his wife Amanda and his son Matthew Livolsi; her sister Ruth and her husband Kevin Beary and their daughter Jennifer; her sister in-law Marilyn Lynch and her children Cheryl and Peter; and many other great nieces and nephews.
Joan is predeceased by her husband, James J. Skeens Sr. as well as her parents; her beloved brother, Peter Lynch and her sister Loretta Lynch. Their memories remain a cherished part of her life story.
A viewing to celebrate her life will be held on Wednesday, October 15th, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Costa Memorial Home, located at 170 Central Ave. (corner of Boulevard) in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, 07604. On Thursday, October 16th, we will gather at Costa Memorial Home in Hasbrouck Heights at 9:30 AM for a Funeral Service at 10 AM. Entombment following at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington.
Joan's remarkable spirit and unwavering devotion to her family will always be remembered, and she will be deeply missed
