Obituary

John F. Latoracca 59, of Wood-Ridge passed away on Monday, December 14, 2020 after a long hard fought battle with cancer. Beloved husband of Sharon (nee Incanno) Latoracca. Super father of Anthony and Michael. Loving son of Eleanor and the late Frank Latoracca. Brother of Buddy Latoracca (Elizabeth) and Rosanne Latoracca (Michelle). Son-in-law of Gloria and the late Salvatore Incanno. Brother-in-law of Sal Incanno (Michelle). Cherished uncle of multiple nieces and nephews.

John graduated from Seton Hall Law School in 1986- he LOVED being a lawyer no matter which side of the fight he was on. He first went to work at the Passaic County Public Defender's Office, rising to the level of First Assistant by age 30. Although always describing it as his dream job, lightning struck twice when he jumped to the  Passaic County Prosecutor's Office. For the last 8 years, John was the Chief of Major Crimes, trying only homicide cases. He retired in 2012 after a total of 25 years between the two offices thinking he'd never find another job he could love as much...until finding Bruno & Ferraro. John Bruno and Bo Ferraro treated John like family and the feeling was mutual. Bruno & Ferraro should know that John thought of the office as family and John and Bo as brothers. He wanted to stay at the office forever.

The only thing John loved more than the law was his family, especially his boys. John spent as much time with them as he could, especially coaching Anthony in any sport he wanted to play (even that one year in soccer!). John coached junior football in Carlstadt-East Rutherford for 14 years before moving on to Wood-Ridge junior football. However, most of his time went to all different levels of baseball - minor- little league, travel and going to virtually every high school game Anthony played in. He was an unbelievable father!

An avid sports fan, John unfortunately was a lifelong fan of the Cincinnati Bengals and the Baltimore Orioles.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, December 19th at 8:45 AM. Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge at 10 AM. Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation Friday, December 18th from 3-7 PM at the funeral home. John loved coaching and thought there was nothing more important, especially when your own child wasn't playing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Wood-Ridge Little League P.O. Box 339 Wood-Ridge, NJ 07075 or your local youth sport league would be appreciated.
