John J. Nesbitt 92, of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2024. Born in Jersey City to the late Anna and John Nesbitt. John served in the Army National Guard from 1949-1959. In 1952, he was a salesman for Janssen Milk Co. and in 1957, Farmland Dairy. In 1960, he was the owner of Mister Softee Ice Cream Franchise and from 1962-1978 he served as president of the Hudson County Curb Service Inc. In 1975, he owned Nesbitt's Homemade Ice Cream Store, in 1976 he was the owner of Dairy Queen in Hackensack. Before retiring in 2000, he was a salesman for Welsh Farms in Long Valley and was in the Dairy and Ice Cream Business for 48 years. John was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge, the Mayor's Senior Citizens Committee, a past president of the Little League and the Town Bowling League, a member of the B.P.O.Elks Lodge 1962, the Leisure Club and a member of the Recreation Tuesday Night Card Club all in Hasbrouck Heights. He was also a member of the AARP in Lodi and the Seniors in Maywood. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and playing pool.

Beloved husband of the late Joan (nee Carpenter) Nesbitt. Devoted father of John J. Nesbitt, Jr. and his wife Victoria. Loving grandfather of Nina, Anthony and Lucia Nesbitt, Katelyn and Karley Inwood and the late Giavanna "Gia" Nesbitt.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Tuesday, June 11th at 9:30 AM. Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge at 10:30 AM. Entombment following at Garden of Memories, Township of Washington.
