John F. Picone, Jr. 89, of Bonita Springs, Fl. formerly of Wood-Ridge and a longtime resident of Weehawken passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023. Born in Union City to the late Sophie and John F. Picone, Sr. John was an Army veteran of the Korean War serving in Germany. Before retiring, he was a longshoreman for the piers at Port Newark. Beloved husband of the late Genevieve (nee Jodice) Picone. Devoted father of Steven Picone and his wife Amy, John D. Picone and his wife Linda, Lisa Basile and her husband Russell and the late James Picone and his surviving spouse Patti. Dear brother of Dolores Givin and her husband Richard and the late Marie Hockman, Frank Picone and Gertrude Donohue. Loving grandfather of DeeAnn, Brian, Derek, Christopher (Tracey), Gregory, Michelle (James), Lauren (Tyler), Bria and Brooke. Cherished great grandfather of Avri. Brother-in-law of Thomas Jodice and his wife Joanne and Jane Picone. John is also survived by his nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Visitation on Monday, April 17th from 3-7 PM with a Service at 6 PM at Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights. Private cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Tunnels 2 Towers would be appreciated.
