John L. Scerbo 79, of Wantage formerly of Ramsey passed away on Sunday, February 25, 2024. Born in Teaneck to the late Raffaela and John J. Scerbo. He was Cum Laude at Fairleigh Dickinson University where he earned his Masters Degree in Business Administration. Before retiring, he was in the banking industry. John was an Eagle Scout, a past president of the Little Ferry Board of Education and a member of the Lions Club in Little Ferry. He served as a Ramsey Councilman for nine years and then served as Mayor of Ramsey for sixteen years. John was also a member of the Ramsey Knights of Columbus. He was an avid outdoorsman and liked to fish and hunt. Beloved husband of Susan Ann (nee Lavelle) Scerbo. Devoted father of John Andrew Scerbo and his wife Laura, Keith Christopher Scerbo and his wife Roberta, Ryan Joseph Scerbo and his wife Kelly, Kerry Ann Graham and her husband Peter and Amy Kathryn Beck and her husband Robert. Dear brother of Michael Anthony Scerbo. Loving grandfather of Andrew, Amanda and her fiance Anthony, Christopher, Aidan, Colin, Madison, Loghan, Kendall, Emily, Sean and Alex.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Friday, March 1st at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Corpus Christi R.C. Church 260 Boulevard Hasbrouck Heights at 10 AM. Interment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Thursday, February 29th from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home.
