"Jorge Luis Lucas "Papo" Rangel, 31 of Garfield, passed away Saturday, March 1, 2025. Jorge attended F.I.T. in New York City. He was a visual merchandiser, personal stylist, and, when his late grandmother grew ill, a caretaker. Loving son of Amelia and Jorge Rangel. Dear brother of Marissa, Stephanie, and Lucas Rangel, as well as Kenya Buggs. Cherished grandson of the late Lucrecia Vaca and her surviving partner Italo Pinargote, the late Hector Murillo, and the late Jorge and Maria Rangel. Nephew of Cecilia and Hector Pagan, Marlene Rangel, Carlos Rangel, Kleber Rangel, Sabina Rangel, and Orlando Rangel. Cousin of Alexa Pagan, Carolina Green, among many others.

Jorge was an avid traveler, visiting several countries, and even lived in Los Angeles for a brief period of time. He loved fashion, music, and all things pop culture. He attended a myriad of concerts in addition to New York and Paris Fashion Week parties, frequenting them so often he befriended the likes of Lady Gaga. Through work and personal events especially, he was able to meet countless celebrities. As far as his hobbies go, he loved tie dying and personalizing clothing, baking, and decorating for the birthday parties of those closest to him.

Jorge's confidence and sense of humor were larger than life. His presence filled the room and his light, kindness, and laughter impacted all those who were lucky enough to cross his path.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Monday, March 10th at 8:45 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Most Holy Name R.C. Church 99 Marsellus Place in Garfield at 10 AM. Cremation following at Cedar Lawn Crematory in Paterson. Visitation Sunday, March 9th from 2 - 7 PM at the funeral home.
