Joseph C. Brown 85, of Wood-Ridge passed away on Tuesday, March 11, 2025.
Beloved husband of Judith A. (nee Pavel) Brown. Devoted father of Robbin Senerchia and her husband Dennis and Daria Hennessy and her husband Martin. Dear brother of Margaret Bonsee. Loving grandfather of Kelley Micowski and her husband Matthew, Meagan Offitto and her husband Mark, Joseph Senerchia and his wife Allison, Justin Senerchia and his wife Sydney, Ryan Hennessy and his wife Kara and Jared Senerchia and his wife Bailey. Cherished great grandfather and known as 'Pop' to Riley, Luke, Tyler, Tucker, Madilyn, Leo, Ellie, Caden, Maeve and Matilda.
Born in Hoboken to the late Edna and Robert Brown and was raised in Weehawken. Joe met Judy Pavel when they were 16 and have been together for nearly 70 years. He was an Army veteran and was stationed in Germany accompanied by his then wife Judy. They resided in Lyndhurst before settling in Wood-Ridge for the past 50 plus years. Joe and Judy celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary last October. Joe is a member of the American Legion Post 310 in Little Ferry and a former member of the American Legion Post in Wood-Ridge. Joe completed his Bachelors of Science Degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University at night while working for Finast Supermarkets. Before retiring, Joe was the Director of Operations for 7-11 as part of the Southland Corporation in Dallas, TX.
Joe was an avid collector of stamps, coins, and Lionel Trains which he had built a nice multi track layout in the basement. He was a long-time fisherman and boat owner and enjoyed taking all the grandkids fishing during the summers on Long Beach Island. Joe was a lifelong NY Mets and Giants fan.
Funeral Service at Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, March 15th at 11:30 AM. Interment following at Crest Haven Memorial Park in Clifton. Visitation Friday, March 14th from 4 - 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice.
