Joseph T. Cavalli 83, of Hasbrouck Heights passed away with his loving wife Debra at his side. Joe was born in North Bergen to the late Katherine and John L. Cavalli and was raised in West New York attending PS #5 and Memorial High School. Joe went on to Fairleigh Dickinson University where he received his Bachelors Degree in Industrial Engineering. He was an Army veteran and a former Second Vice-Commander of the James B. Scarr American Legion Post 106 in Hasbrouck Heights. Joe had a varied 35 year career working for General Motors, Wakefern Food Corp., Manhattan Shirt, and the last 25 years with the makers of Lysol products. In his retirement, Joe was active and facilitated in Prostate Cancer Support Groups at Hackensack University Medical Center, Holy Name Hospital in Teaneck and at the Hasbrouck Heights Public Library.
Beloved husband of Debra A. Cavalli (nee Di Giulio). Dear brother of Lucille Relovsky. Brother-in-law of Dawn Padovano and the late Lorraine and Alan Di Giulio. Cherished uncle of Michael Relovsky and his wife Judy, Lorelei Frankelis and her husband Peter, Monica Colucci, Anthony Padovano and his wife Natalie and Jordan Padovano and his wife Alyssa. Great uncle of Daniel Ferguson, Ryan Ferguson and his wife Stephanie, Olivia Rosati, James Rosati, John Relovsky, Natasha Relovsky, Isabella Padovano and Robert Padovano. Great great uncle of Addey Rose, Aiden and Maeve Ferguson. Joe is also survived by his good friends Dan Ferguson, Heather Nelson and Jimmy Rosati, his many cousins and friends.
Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Thursday, August 27th at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy from St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Lodi at 10 AM. Private cremation will follow. Visitation Wednesday, August 26th from 5 - 9 PM at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Michael J. Fox The Parkinson's Foundation, to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Shriner's Children's Hospital of Philadelphia or to the American Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
