Joseph M. Cooney 95, of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2022. Born in Jersey City to the late Patrick and Mary Cooney. Joseph was an Army veteran of W.W.II and a member of the James Scarr American Legion Post 106 in Hasbrouck Heights. Before retiring, he was a realtor and insurance broker for Love, Wanser & Cooney Real Estate and Insurance Company in Jersey City. Beloved husband of Janice Cooney and the late Joan Cooney. Devoted father of Joseph Cooney and his wife Michele, Brian Cooney and his wife Christy, Terry Cooney, Kevin Cooney, Sean Cooney and his wife Nan and the late Dennis Cooney. Step-father of Bernie Courtney. Dear brother of the late Catherine Gildea and Alice Cozzolino. Loving grandfather of nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave Hasbrouck Heights on Monday, January 24th at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Corpus Christi R.C. Church Hasbrouck Heights at 10 AM. Interment following at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Visitation Sunday, January 23rd from 1-4 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Saint Peter's Prep in Jersey City or to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home.
