Lamparello
August 9, 1939 — February 3, 2022
Leonard Lamparello 82, of Hasbrouck Heights, formerly of East Rutherford, passed away on Thursday, February 3, 2022. Leonard was born in Passaic to the late Samuel and Theresa Lamparello. Leonard was the proud owner/operator of Samson Caterers in Hasbrouck Heights for many years. Following that, he went on to become a licensed realtor and broker and subsequently started Liberty Mortgage Company. Len also taught real estate at Kovats Real Estate and Insurance School and went on to teach the real estate licensing course at Bloomfield College. Len was also a former marketing instructor for Better Homes and Gardens.
Len was a faithful parishioner of St. Joseph's R.C. Church in East Rutherford where he was a past president of the Holy Name Society, a member of the Human Concerns Committee, an RCIA Instructor, a lector and a member of the choir. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus Regina Council in East Rutherford, and a member of the B.P.O.Elks Lodge 1962. Len previously served on the Planning Board in East Rutherford and was a former chairman of the Hasbrouck Heights Zoning Board. Len's passion for baseball inspired him to coach for Hasbrouck Heights Little League and also serve as a recruiter for Rutgers University in Newark and N.J. City University in Jersey City. Leonard proudly served as a municipal court mediator for the Bergen County Justice Center. Beloved husband of Dolores (nee Cassiere) Lamparello. Devoted father of Lee Nelms (David), Christopher, Adam, and the late Marc Lamparello. Dear brother of Josephine Stewart, Carol Lamparello and the late Anthony and Sammy Lamparello. Loving grandfather of Sydney and Lyndsey Nelms. Len's love for his family was unending, and his passion for helping people was evident in the way that he lived his life. He was a role model to many and he will be missed beyond words.
Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Tuesday, February 8th at 8:30 AM. Funeral Liturgy from St. Joseph's R.C. Church East Rutherford at 9:30 AM. Interment following at St. Joseph's Cemetery, Lyndhurst. Visitation Monday, February 7th from 5 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home.
