Obituary

Louis A. Loscialpo, of Teterboro, formerly of Lodi, passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2024. He was 80 years old. Before retiring, Louis was an honorable member of the Lodi Police Department, the U.S. Air Force, and the Army Reserve. After retirement, Louis founded L.A.L. Detective Agency in Teterboro. He was also a past member of The American Legion in Maywood and a member of the Teterboro Planning Board.

His memory is cherished by his two loving daughters, Lara Loscialpo and Ashley Roberts and her husband Cody, and his loving son Alex Loscialpo. He will be fondly remembered by his adoring sister Jeanne DePalma and her husband Frank, his treasured grandchildren, Reagan and Dakota Roberts, and countless local residents for his generous spirit, sharp wit, and infinite humor. Louis was pre-deceased by his son the late Derek LoScialpo and his sister the late Rita Celentano.

Louis' life was made full with family, friendships, and constant well timed wit. A child of God who believed deeply in the power of prayer and positivity, Louis maintained meaningful relationships with others by being dependable and supportive. He developed lifelong friendships with the members of the Lodi Police Department throughout his career, and in his retired days could be found sipping coffee with The Bergen Harley Davidson family where he enjoyed watching the newest bikes roll in and out. "Louie" belonged to an old man's club affectionately called the ROMEO (Retired Old Men Eating Out) with whom he could be found eating breakfast at a local Lodi establishment on a daily basis. Louis loved to stay busy and continued to work well into his 70's taking on cases, if only to help out a friend. In his personal life he spent every Sunday with his loving sister and brother- in -law, playing cards, eating Italian meals, and finding ways to laugh at themselves as much as possible. Of all his titles he earned throughout his life,"Dad" was his proudest accomplishment. He was a devoted father who created intentional memories with his children from their young age, well into their adulthood, always providing them an easy place to land. His children came first. He never missed an opportunity to take part in a special moment in his child's life and made countless trips to Florida to watch his two young grandchildren begin to grow up. He leaves a lasting impression of love and light for everyone who had the honor to know him. Louis will be remembered for his jovial spirit, passion for motorcycles and planes, and his kind and generous spirit.
