Obituary

Lucia Frances Giorgi (nee DeGregorio) of Bronx, NY. a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a great grandmother, passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at Hackensack University Medical Center at 93 years of age after a short illness.

Lucia was born in New York City on February 2, 1927 to Salvatore DeGregorio and Frances Oliveri DeGregorio. On February 9, 1952, she was joined in matrimony with James Louis Giorgi , a marriage that endured for 68 years, raising four children: James, who predeceased her, Diane, Michael and Andrea.

After marriage, Lucia ended her career as a margin clerk on Wall Street, and became a full time homemaker. She devoted her life to her husband and children and creating a happy home life. She had a strong belief in the value of education and saw each of her children complete college and beyond.

Lucia's interests included reading, cooking, baking, knitting, playing cards and sewing. In her 70's she became an avid computer enthusiast, learning how to surf the web like a pro.

Lucia is the beloved wife of James L. Giorgi. A devoted mother of Diane Giorgi, M.D., Michael Giorgi, Andrea Giorgi Bocker, P.E. and her husband Anthony and the late James Giorgi and his surviving spouse Sveta Rozhkova Giorgi. A loving grandmother of Rosalyn Bocker Parks, Ph.D. and her husband Ronald Parks, P.A., Emily Bocker, Luciana Giorgi and Camille Bocker, N.P., as well as the light of her life her great-granddaughter Georgiana Parks. Dear sister of the late Joseph DeGregorio and his surviving spouse Marie. Sister-in-law of Jean and Frank Papale and the late August Giorgi and his surviving spouse Jean.

Funeral Liturgy from St. Joseph's R.C. Church 40 Spring Street in Lodi on Thursday, November 19th at 10 AM. (All to meet at church). Entombment following at Madonna Mausoleum in Fort Lee. There are no visiting hours at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN. 38105 would be appreciated. Arrangements are by Costa Memorial Home in Hasbrouck Heights.
