Dr. Margaret Ellen Sloan "Meg" 69, of Garfield passed away on Monday, May 26, 2025 in San Diego, CA. Meg was a graduate of Douglass/Rutgers University in 1973 where she earned her B.S. Degree, she went on to receive her Masters Degree from Clemson University, her Ph.D from the University of Georgia and received her Post-Doctorate Scholar in Plant Biochemistry from Rutgers University. Meg was a Science Professor at Passaic County Community College for 11 years and previously, taught at the University of Delaware for 14 years and Bergen Community College in Paramus. She loved her cats, Tiger and Cheeta and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers  and Clemson University. Loving daughter of the late Anne Sloan-Velebir and her late husband Joseph Velebir and the late Kenneth T. Sloan. Dear sister of Dr. Anne Elizabeth Sloan and her husband Col. James Murtland and the late Dr. John Spencer Sloan.

Funeral Service on Saturday, June 14th at 10 AM at Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ. Interment following at East Ridgelawn Cemetery, Clifton. Visitation Friday, June 13th from 3 - 6 PM at the funeral home.
