Marie C. Ferris

Marie C. Ferris (nee Carney) 92, a sixty-five year resident of Wood-Ridge formerly of the Bronx, NY passed away into God's loving arms on Mother's Day, May 10, 2026. Born on Father's Day, June 18,1933 in New York City to the late Catherine and Thomas Carney and was raised in the Bronx. Marie received her B.S.N. from Felician College. Before retiring, she was a registered nurse at Montclair State University. Marie was so proud to be part of a family with so many nurses and medical professionals. She was a longtime faithful parishioner of the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge where she was a member of the Rosary Society. Marie was also a member of the V.F.W. Post 4591 Auxiliary in Hasbrouck Heights. Beloved wife of the late James T. Ferris. Devoted mother of Neal Ferris and his wife Susan, Alanna Turi and her husband Mark and Catherine Cook and her husband Mark and the late James T. Ferris, Jr. Dear sister of the late Michael Carney, Edward "Ted" Carney, Catherine Lodge, Enda Teehan and Rosaleen Carney. Loving grandmother of Michael (Martha), Allison, Brian (Jessica), Danielle (Lock), Christina (Will), Liam, Nolan and Jack. Cherished great grandmother of Patrick Locklin. Marie is also survived by her many nieces and nephews. 

She was an avid Mystery reader and a special thanks to Angela Lansbury for Murder She Wrote. 

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Friday, May 15th at 9:30 AM. Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge at 10:30 AM. Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation Thursday, May 14th from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady 143 First Street Wood-Ridge, NJ 07075 or to the V.F.W. Post 4591 Auxiliary 513 Veterans Place Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604 would be appreciated.
