Marilyn L. Hettel (nee Ali) 93, of Garfield passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024. Born in Passaic to the late Louise and Sam Ali. Marilyn was a graduate of Garfield High School in 1948. She received her Beautician's license and began working at her mother's Beauty Shop. Between raising four children, Marilyn worked in a plastic company's lab as a color swatch technician and backup switchboard operator. Before retiring, Marilyn was a keypunch operator for the Popular Club in Garfield. Beloved wife of the late Frank J. Hettel. Devoted mother of Louise Lanzerotti and her husband Jerry, Marilyn Hettel, Patrick Hettel and the late Frank S. Hettel. Dear sister of the late Rachael Ali and George Ali. Loving grandmother of Frank, Patrick, Paulette, Samantha and her husband Rich and Gerard. Cherished great grandmother of Alessia.

In Marilyn's free time, she was a member of Most Holy Name School Mother's Guild, serving as its president once. In retirement, she joined the Garfield Seniors, Most Holy Name Seniors again serving as the club's president and was a member of the Most Holy Name R.C. Church Rosary Society in Garfield. Some of her hobbies were painting, crafts, gardening and antiquing.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Thursday, May 2nd at 9:45 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Most Holy Name R.C. Church 99 Marsellus Place Garfield at 11 AM. Interment following at St. Nicholas Cemetery, Lodi. Visitation Wednesday, May 1st from 5 - 8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family would be appreciated.
