Mario Sasso, 90 of Hasbrouck Heights, formerly of Hoboken New Jersey, passed away on Sunday March 27, 2022 at Inglemoor Rehabilitation Center in Livingston, New Jersey. Born on May 1, 1931 in Molfetta, Bari, Italy to the late Cosmo and Maria Sasso (Sancilio). Predeceased by his wife, Rosa Sasso (Mastropasqua) and father to Maria, Mario and Anna (husband Renato Giacchi). Doting grandfather of Nicola Giacchi, Alex Giacchi, Marissa Pinto, Danielle Pinto and Natalie Pinto. Mario immigrated to the United States in 1948, arriving at Pier 52 in New York City. He became a US citizen in April 1954. Mario served in the US Army during the Korean War (1955-1957) as a vechicle mechanic and received an honorable discharge in 1963. He married Rosa in September 1958. Mario owned and operated Rosemary Fashions, a ladies' coat contract manufacturing company, from the 1960's to the early 1980's in Hoboken. During his retirement he enjoyed working in his vegetable garden. Funeral Service at Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, April 2nd at 9:30 AM. Mario will be entombed with his wife at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, North Arlington. Visitation Friday April 1st from 4-7 PM at the funeral home.
