Peter J. Gallo, Jr. 90, of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Thursday, January 21, 2021. Born in Lodi to the late Pietro and Catherine Gallo. Peter received his Masters Degree from Long Island University. He was an Army veteran serving from 1953-1955 and was a member of the James B. Scarr American Legion Post 106 in Hasbrouck Heights. Before retiring, he was Director of the Guidance Department at Hackensack High School where he worked for twenty-nine years. Peter was a parishioner of the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge and a member of the choir. He was a Past Grand Knight of St. Anthony's Knights of Columbus Council 11585 in Wood-Ridge and a member of the Bishop O'Connor Fourth Degree Assembly in Hackensack. Peter was also a past president of the Leisure Club, a past president and a life member of the Kiwanis Club and a former member of the Library Board all in Hasbrouck Heights and a former vice-president of the A.A.R.P. in Hackensack for eight years. Beloved husband of Marie (nee Del Guercio) Gallo. Devoted father of Lynn Marie Gallo and Peter J. Gallo, III and spouse Kevin Lam. Dear brother of the late Steven and Victor Gallo. Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Monday, January 25th at 9:15 AM. Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge at 10:30 AM. Interment following at Holy Cross Cemetery, North Arlington. Visitation Sunday, January 24th from 1-4 PM at the funeral home.
