Ralph W Chandless Jr, age 77, of Hasbrouck Heights NJ and Fort Lauderdale FL, died on February 13, 2022 after a short illness. Ralph was an attorney in private practice for 52 years. He was Hasbrouck Heights Borough Attorney from 1986 through 2020 and Borough Attorney Emeritus in 2021. Ralph was proud of his Hasbrouck Heights roots and took great pride in being part of the town and its history.

Ralph was devoted to his family and his friends. He opened the doors of his home to the extended family and many of them had the pleasure of sharing his hospitality over the years. One of the last people to dress up for air travel, he was a joy to tease and was always amused by his family's antics. He was a huge fan of old Buicks and loved the beach. In his eyes babies and dogs were never too loud or too messy.

Ralph will be missed by many, but by none more than the family who loved him. Ralph is survived by his sister Kathleen Hoffman of Hasbrouck Heights, his sister-in-law Rose Chandless of Davidson NC, and his 11 nieces and nephews and their children. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph W and Mary Frances Chandless, and his siblings - James Chandless, Georgeann Esmerado and Elizabeth Smith.

The visitation will be held at Costa Memorial Home on February 18 th from 3pm to 7pm. There will be a graveside service for close friends and family at Hackensack Cemetery on Saturday morning. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be sent to the Hasbrouck Heights Free Public Library at 320 Boulevard, Hasbrouck Heights, NJ 07604.
