Rita M. Neidhardt (nee Hux) 89, of Lodi passed away surrounded by her family on Tuesday, November 5, 2024. Born in Garfield to the late Martha and Charles Hux. Rita was a fashion model in New York City, a volunteer at Hackensack Medical Center and went on to earn her LPN license. She was a member of the St. Francis de Sales Mother's Guild in Lodi. Beloved wife of John P. Neidhardt, Jr. Rita and John met on a blind date in 1952, got married and had a very happy marriage for 70 years. Devoted mother of John Neidhardt and his wife Bonnie, Brian Neidhardt and his wife Donna, Donna Vazquez and her husband Steve, Thomas Neidhardt and Mary Settecasi and her husband Perry. Also, Rita and John were foster parents for 29 babies over the years. Dear sister of the late Charles Hux, Jr. Loving grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Rita loved animals, especially horses. She loved the sun, boating, the beach, Jamaica, spending time up the country, music and dancing.
Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, November 9th at 8:30 AM. Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Sacred Heart in Rochelle Park at 9:30 AM. Cremation following at Cedar Lawn Crematory. Visitation Friday, November 8th from 4 - 7 PM at the funeral home.
