Robert V. Concato 80, of Jackson formerly of Wood-Ridge passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2023. Born in Hackensack to the late Ursula and Reno Concato. He was a graduate of Trenton State College where he received his Bachelors Degree. Before retiring, Robert taught shop and mechanical drawing at Wood-Ridge High School and taught in the school system for 33 years. He was a former president and negotiator for the Teachers Union. He was a member of the Wood-Ridge Fire Department for 25 years and served two years as the Fire Chief. After moving to Jackson, he became their Fire Commissioner. Robert was an avid fisherman and loved being on the water, he was a handyman and able to build anything. In high school, he built his own surfboard and surfed with it in Lavallette. Beloved husband of Joanne (nee Spinoso) Concato. Devoted father of Robert Concato and his wife Jennifer, Richard Concato and his wife Bridget and Christopher Concato. Dear brother of Ronald Concato and his wife Becky. Loving grandfather of Heather, Robert, Brielle, Briana, Aiden and Richard. Cherished great grandfather of Braiden, Lexx and Taylor.

Funeral Service at Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Wednesday, August 16th at 10:45 AM. Cremation following at Cedar Lawn Crematory. Visitation Tuesday, August 15th from 4-8 PM with a Fire Department Service at 7 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to Tunnel 2 Towers would be appreciated.
