Robert M. McGuirl 54, of Hasbrouck Heights passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2023.
Beloved husband of Maggie (nee Behrens) McGuirl. Loving son of Marilynn McGuirl and his late father, Robert McGuirl. Dear brother of Lisa McGuirl Matthews.
Son-in-law of Midge Behrens and the late Richard. Brother-in-law of Richie Behrens (Nadine) and Meagan Lopez (Eddie). Cherished uncle of Kelly and Lauren Behrens and Makenzie and Madison Lopez. Nephew to Barbara M'Gonigle. Rob is also survived by his many close friends and was adored by the family pet Skye. Rob was Director of Operations for Stop & Shop.
Rob, a cherished husband, devoted New York Rangers fan, culinary enthusiast, and adventurous soul who found joy in life's simple pleasures. Rob's unwavering love for the NY Rangers illuminated his days, cheering passionately for his team. His love of cooking led him to discover new recipes and savoring delightful meals at the best restaurants, while his kitchen was a canvas of creativity and love.
His summers were a symphony of bliss spent at Key Harbor Marina and navigating the waters of Barnegat Bay. Travel was his compass, guiding him to places near and far, collecting memories and experiences that enriched his spirit.
Yet amidst his passions, Rob's heart found its truest joy in the love he shared with his wife, Maggie. Their bond was a testament to enduring love, an anchor that steadied and enriched their lives together.
Rob's presence was a beacon of light, his kindness and zest for life leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him. While he may no longer be with us, his love and vibrant spirit will forever echo in our hearts.
Funeral Service at Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue Hasbrouck Heights on Saturday, January 6th at 11:30 AM. Private cremation will follow. Visitation Friday, January 5th from 4 - 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorial contributions to the Lustgarten Foundation or the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network would be appreciated.
