Obituary

Rosario "Russell" A. Lipari, 90, of Hasbrouck Heights, passed away on Saturday, October 4, 2025. Born in Jersey City to the late Mary and Anthony Lipari. Russell was a graduate of Ferris High School in Jersey City and The Manhattan Institute of Technology. He was a Plumbing Engineer & Designer at Jansen & Rogan (NYC), Les Sterling Associates (Closter, NJ), and Brownworth & Associates in Piscataway, where he became the Principal of the Firm, and while in retirement still enjoyed being a consultant to many other architects. He was a Past-President of the New Jersey Branch of The American Society of Plumbing Engineers. Russell was a devout Catholic and was currently a parishioner of Corpus Christi R.C. Church in Hasbrouck Heights, where he was a lead usher. After retiring, he served as a Hasbrouck Heights Councilman for 12 years, where he served as Police Commissioner, Fire Commissioner, and Commissioner of the Board of Health. Russell was currently serving as a member of the Planning Board, President of the Hasbrouck Heights Leisure Club, and a Charter Member of the Monsignor Fitzpatrick Knights of Columbus Council 7041. Beloved husband of the late Rosalie (nee Coniglio) Lipari. Devoted father of Mary Beth Petruzzelli and her husband Joe, and Fr. Anthony R. Lipari, FCM. He was an endeared brother to Netta Catrillo and her husband James, and the late Connie (Yeswita) Gaeta. Loving grandfather of Joseph Petruzzelli and his wife Danielle, and Christina Richardson and her husband Christopher. Cherished great-grandfather of Aiden, Gianna, Avery, and Dominick. Russell is also survived by his many nieces and nephews, Cousins, and Friends.

Funeral from Costa Memorial Home, Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights on Thursday, October 9th at 9 AM. Funeral Liturgy from Corpus Christi R.C. Church, 260 Boulevard in Hasbrouck Heights, at 10 AM. Interment following at Hillside Cemetery, Lyndhurst. Visitation Tuesday, October 7th, from 6 - 8 PM and Wednesday, October 8th, from 2 - 4 & 6 - 8 PM at the funeral home.
