Stephen E. Monchak 82, of Hasbrouck Heights formerly of Saddle Brook passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2021. Born in Passaic to the late Helen and Stephen J. Monchak. Stephen was an Army veteran during the Vietnam War. Stephen worked in the New York City advertising world for over 50 years. He held positions at some of the most recognized firms including his favorite position as Senior Art Director at Ted Bates Advertising. At "Bates" he was responsible for the creative direction on countless campaigns including the US Military's JRAP (Joint Recruiting Advertising Program), Bubbleicious Chewing Gum, Sheeba Cat Food, Harley Davidson Motorcycles, Pedigree Dog Food, Panasonic Electronics, Levis Jeans, and Swiss Air to name a few. Steve always thought of himself as an Ad Man long after he retired from the industry. Steve was beloved husband of Elaine (nee Aliferis) Monchak. Devoted father of Christopher Monchak, Gregory Monchak and his fiancé Renee and their daughter Mia and Karen Monchak and her loving partner Chris Elsesser. Dear brother of the late Janet Monchak.

Funeral Service at Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Wednesday, December 22nd at 10 AM. Entombment following at George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus. Visitation Tuesday, December 21st from 6-8 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hasbrouck Heights Volunteer Fire Department/Ambulance Corps who are greatly appreciated for their services. Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home.
