Stuart M. Fisher

Stuart M. Fisher 77, of Maywood, passed suddenly, though peacefully in his favorite chair at home on Wednesday, June 10, 2026. Since his childhood in Long Island, Stuart's genius mystic was a lover of books, antiques, 19th century phonographs and the culture of magic, inspiring a lifetime of reading and collecting. During his college in Barcelona, Spain, Stuart traveled the world, enjoying Afghanistan and the Marakesh Express before moving to New York City in the 70's. During that time, he practiced yoga with the world's best yogis while working as talent manager at the Fillmore East and the Port Authority Bus Terminal before coming to work at Schiller's Bookstore in Paramus where he met his soulmate and wife Therese Sansone. During thirty years of marriage, Stuart and Therese enjoyed trips to Paris and summers in the Highlands with their various Daschunds while celebrating Christmas by hosting 31 days of lunches and dinners with family and friends every year. In his final years, Stuart enjoyed weekends with his dog Belli and supporting his cousins Elliot and Philip in their filmmaking and music careers.

Visitation on Wednesday, June 17th from 5 - 8 PM at Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights. Private cremation will follow.
