RAMSEY- The Reverend Nicholas Capetola, CRM 86, a Priest at the Adorno Fathers in Ramsey passed away on Sunday, May 21, 2023. Born in Roccomontepiano, Abruzzi Italy to the late Laura and Alfonso Capetola. Fr. Nicholas received his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Philosophy at the University of Angelicum in Rome and his Bachelor of Science Degree in Sacred Theology from St. Francis Seminary in Loretto, PA. He received his Perpetual Vows on January 2, 1960 and was the first Priest of the Adorno Fathers to be ordained in the United States at the Sacred Heart Cathedral in Newark by Archbishop Thomas A. Boland on May 26, 1962. Fr. Nicholas served at St. Joseph's R.C. Church in Lodi, Immaculate Conception Church in Goose Creek, SC., was the first Superior and Rector at the Seminary in the Philippines and served at St. Michael's House of Studies at the Adorno Fathers in Ramsey. Dear brother of Erminia Luberti, Alduino , Angelo and Americo Capetola and the late Santina DiNardo. Also survived by his many nieces and nephews. A Concelebrated Mass will be offered at St. Joseph's R.C. Church 40 Spring St. Lodi on Saturday, May 27th at 9:30 AM. Interment following at Maryrest Cemetery, Mahwah. Visitation Friday, May 26th from 3-8 PM with the Vigil Service at 7 PM at the church. Memorial contributions to the Adorno Fathers 575 Darlington Avenue Ramsey, NJ 07446 would be appreciated.
