Obituary

Thomas Nichilo 91, of Paramus, formerly of Secaucus, passed away on Wednesday, August 3, 2022. He was known as "Tommy" to his family and "Yucky" to his long-time friends.

He was born on January 9, 1931, and was raised in Jersey City, NJ along-side his sister, Pauline Miele, his brother, Anthony Nichilo, and his Fiorino uncles, who have pre-deceased him, Angelo, Arthur, Dominick, John, and Carmine. He was a United States Army veteran who served his Country proudly during The Korean War, where he was wounded. He worked for UPS for many years until his retirement and was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 177.

After meeting his sweetheart, Carmela Stefano, in 1986, they lived happily in Secaucus, NJ where Tommy continued to dote upon Carmela, his first love, and his cars, his second love. He was a creature of habit who, everyday he rose early to enjoy his breakfast, went to get his coffee and paper at the local store, did his word puzzles and go for his walks. He prided himself in his appearance and was known for always being dressed impeccably with never a hair out of place.

He was predeceased by his parents, Rocco and Elvira Nichilo (nee Fiorino). He is survived by his wife Carmela Stefano Nichilo, his sister, Pauline Miele, his brother, Anthony Nichilo, his daughter, Meri Pace, his granddaughter, Lauren Gannon and her husband Andy, and his great-grandson Leonardo, and many adoring nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
