Virgilio A. Romano 85, of Wood-Ridge formerly of Jersey City passed away on Friday, September 3, 2021. Born in Vico, Aprigliano, Cosenza, Italy to the late Francesco and Assunta Romano and came to the United States in 1958. Before retiring, Virgilio was a civil engineer for the Operating Engineers Union Local 825 in Springfield. Beloved husband of sixty-four years to Francesca (nee Torchio) Romano. Devoted father of Assunta and her husband David Smith, Frank Romano and his wife Ginny and Joseph Romano and his wife Julie. Dear brother of Edda Aloi and the late Fedele, Fausto, Rina and Teresa. Loving grandfather of Gabriella, Julianna, Daniella, Michael and his wife Adelaide, Nicholas and his wife Lilly and Thomas and his fiancé Elena. Funeral from Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Ave. Hasbrouck Heights on Thursday, September 9th at 9:45 AM. Funeral Liturgy from the Church of the Assumption of Our Blessed Lady in Wood-Ridge at 11 AM. Entombment following at Madonna Mausoleum, Fort Lee. Visitation Wednesday, September 8th from 3-7 PM at the funeral home. Masks will be required upon entering the funeral home.
