William "Bill" Spindler

William "Bill" Spindler 68, of Hasbrouck Heights and Sarasota, Fl. passed away on Sunday, July 12, 2026. Born in Hackensack to the late Marie and William N. Spindler. Bill was the first Hasbrouck Heights State Wrestling Champion and was a wrestling coach in Hasbrouck Heights for many years. He received his Bachelors Degree form the University of Georgia. Before retiring in 2022, Bill was Superintendent of the Department of Public Works in Hasbrouck Heights, where he worked for 27 years. He was a former member of the Lions Club and a former member of the former Pioneer Club both in Hasbrouck Heights. 

Beloved husband of thirty-five years to Wendy (nee Gerquest) Spindler. Devoted father of Kristie Spindler and her husband Taylor Riccio. Dear brother of Robert Spindler and his wife Virginia. Uncle to Tracy and Bobby Spindler. Bill is also survived by his cousins and many cherished friends. 

Visitation on Thursday, July 16th from 3 - 7 PM with a Prayer Service at 6 PM at Costa Memorial Home Boulevard and Central Avenue in Hasbrouck Heights. Private cremation will follow.
